Tues., July 20...he should be! After a fun morning of shopping (CVS...just like Woolworths on Canal St.; travel & luggage store; stationery shop...my weakness), we went to the Mission for Mass. I had time for a tour. This is the bed Fr. Serra slept in...3 planks & a thin blanket. I have a hard enough time sleeping on a comfortable mattress under several quilts & this was his life...night after night. Believe me, that blanket did NOT keep him warm. It gets into the 50's here in July at night. How can some people be so sacrificial.
A fun round of golf at Monterey Pines...thought I might break 100 today w/46 on the front 9 but then there was the back 9. Total score was 103. You do the math. Farmers' Mkt (where we again got lost) to pick up my dishtowels, enjoy delicious lamb curry, & stock up on fruits & vegetables. Nice, nice day.
