Bayonet - 7/7/10

We got a good deal on golfnow for Bayonet at Fort Ord so off we went. Played so well today I didn't recognize myself but loved nearly every shot. Fort Ord is an old military base. Our friend Don Kelly was stationed here during Vietnam. Remains of an old quonset hut on green #16. The course was absolutely beautiful & in perfect shape. Farmers' Mkt. on the way home...nice fruit & veggies came home with us along w/a yummy dinner of lamb curry & pecan pie.

Oh, yes, Ft. Ord when it was still a military base. Spent 2 years attached to it as Don was there for almost a year before he shipped out to VN. Did you get to Salinas yet to check out our old apartment? 640 Carmelita Drive. The little separate building on the left was our apartment and the landlord lived in the 'big house' further back.

We go to Salinas Sun. for the Rodeo but don't know our way around town. It will be crowded w/rodeo fans as this is the final competition & the 100th anniversary. I LOVE it!
