Laguna Seca

Last year this course killed us...never scored much better than 125. Today...TA DA...108! 3 pars &, literally, an inch from 2 more pars. Hit the green on my drive w/all par 3's!!! Lost only 1 ball in the water. A great round & a beautiful day. I love this game & am thrilled to have played so well...even beat my partner today but he is most gracious about it! After golf, we went into Carmel to the Cheese Shop. Oh, my goodness! We yearn for this shop in Houston. They give you a sample of any and every cheese they sell. In the window was a huge wheel of Prima Donna (Netherlands), so we got that first. Also, Brie de Meaux (France), Arran Islands cheddar (Scotland), double Gloucester with chives (England), Manchego (Spain), Montrechet (goat cheese), a chevre from the U.S., Greek olives. a bottle of Malbec, and a bottle of Cotes du Rhone. We hurried home for all this feasting on the patio watching the fog roll in. Caught a bit of an old Seinfeld, dinner, and bed. Just a sweet and exhilarating day! No tears today...just happy memories of Mother. TTFN

I think my cardiologist will be happy I'm just reading this and not tasting all those wonderful cheeses! Course Friday night we went to Fannie's 80th birthday party where the cake was same as Diane Alm's 60th BD party (wonderfully rich and artery stickin' I'm sure) and then yesterday at Nancy McCollom's wedding where I also enjoyed cake! Today, I'm celibate (??) from food! Well, at least rich food! The wedding was lovely, at a B&B, with scenery very reminiscent of Sue and Mark's with a peaceful field to view, a kitten underfoot up the wedding aisle, and a beautiful bride escorted by her adoring father. The rain ceased until 6 pm and it was a day made in heaven!
Love you,
Lynn
