Weekend Fun

Laurie & the boys arrived Friday and the Farrell Family Reunion officially began! Not sure I can remember all we've done so far but will try. We did celebrate boys' birthdays & Father's Day Fri. p.m. followed by fettucine alfredo & chocolate cake for bday dinner (requested)! Laurie & I then went to a foreign film("Paris, Je'taime")...typical foreign film...quirky but we liked it a lot...a nice change of pace for her from "Shrek" type movies! Sat. we changed sheets & got ready for the Mehringer's visit. Caleb was under the weather with a bad cough so we all decided Hilltop was not a good idea for him in case the asthma kicked in & we'd be in the boondocks as far as a doctor. It was pouring rain all afternoon but stopped just in time for Wil, Linda, & Joshua to get into Minute Maid Park "dry as a bone!" Joshua is our good luck charm because the Astros played great against Seattle & we actually swept the series. It was so fun to see a well-played baseball game after their sorry spring. The Mehringers' plane was 1 1/2 hrs. late. They got to our house at 11:30. We visited til midnight. I finally got to sleep after 1:00 a.m. Sun. a.m. I took the boys to Penny's for their back to school uniforms. Joshua has to wear a dress shirt & a tie for chapel now that he is in middle school. He picked out a beautiful tie & tried the whole outfit on for me. SO handsome!!! Wil cooked burgers & hot dogs on the grill..."sweet" baked beans (as Caleb calls them!)& a bean salad by me (Carol Alm's mom's recipe), followed by choc. cake & BlueBell. Dodsons had to leave early to beat the rain, which never came. But Scott was able to come. We had a nice visit sitting outside under the arbors w/a nice breeze & very little humidity. Wil & I went to computer class this morning. Ashley, Matt, Mollie, Missy, & Ray visited Mother. Don't know what we'll do with the rest of the day. TTFN
